 Fixed Term – 1 Year
Role Purpose:
To ensure the premises are kept clean, hygienic and safe to create a suitable environment for children, parents and staff.
Role Requirements
The successful candidate will need to:
Be physically fit as this is an active role in a large and busy centre.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Understand the need to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment.
Be reliable, trustworthy and prepared to work hard.
The main duties are as follows:
Carry out a range of cleaning duties, in line with procedures and standards.  This will include sweeping, washing, polishing, dusting, mopping, vacuuming etc.
Maintain observation on maintenance requirements and report any deficiencies to our Site Manager and record in log.
Health & Safety
Carry out risk assessments when moving furniture and ensure chemicals are stored appropriately.
Corporate and statutory initiatives - equalities/health and safety/
e-government/ sustainability
Awareness of health and safety policy and practice as it applies to the post
Areas for cleaning will include toilets and a small shower area.  You may also be asked to undertake any other reasonable duties as required to help the centre meet its operational needs.

Hours of work: 6.00pm – 8.00pm, Monday to Friday - 51 weeks a year – (Closed for Christmas).
Pay:  £8.50 per hour approx.
The successful candidate will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and to a generous annual leave entitlement of at least 24 days plus public holidays.

Hampshire County Council Terms and Conditions apply, including the option to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
