Haven is an expanding Hampshire Maintained Nursery and Daycare Centre. Due to continued growth within our nurseries and our continuous ‘outstanding’ Ofsted, we are looking to appoint an experienced Cook to join our outstanding and friendly team at our beautiful nursery in Gosport.
This role involves supporting the Nursery’s full time Head Chef to prepare and cook meals, as well as maintaining our 5* Food Hygiene rating.  As part of your role, you must have the ability to cover for our Head Chef on their holiday periods – which may include school holidays.
This role is part time, working 27.5 hours per week, 9 am – 3pm (to include a 30 minute lunch break),  Monday – Friday, term time only (39 weeks per academic year).  *With the exception of covering school holidays if Head Chef has booked annual leave at this time.

Contract Type:         Part-time, fixed term for 1 year
Salary Details:          £16,905 (Full Time Equivalent)

- To support/assist the Head Chef in ensuring a high standard of catering with all food being prepared for the children through following the policies, procedures, legislative guidelines and relevant instructions as set out by the Nursery.
- To be able to solely run the kitchen when Head Chef is on holidays
- To complete advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.

Requirements of Cook Role:
Great understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
Experience in a busy kitchen environment (nursery or school settings desirable)
Clear DBS
Understanding of catering for special diets, allergies and intolerances
Strong communication skills: written and verbal
Good timekeeping and organisational skills with an enthusiastic, flexible, can do attitude

Required experience:
Catering: 1 year minimum

Early Years Practitioner
Full time - Fixed Term
Our recently graded outstanding nursery currently has a vacancy for an inspiring and talented Early Years Practitioner, to provide high quality care and learning opportunities for children aged from 3 months to 5 years old in both our Nest and Hive areas. You will be enthusiastic, have great interpersonal skills, enjoy working as part of a team and want the very best for our children.

Our belief is that children thrive when they are consistently happy and safe at school. Whatever a child’s background or starting point, we believe that every child can achieve.

                                             ∞ Applicants will need to hold at least a relevant Level 3 Childcare related qualification ∞

The Centre is open from 7.45am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.  Hours of work will be on a shift basis to cover these opening hours. The Centre closes for the period between Christmas Day and New Year.

This post is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year with a starting salary of £17,224. Fixed term - initially for a year.
